Years of cuts and freezes by consecutive Conservative and Liberal governments have left us with an underfunded education system. Schools are crumbling. Too many students are forced to wear their winter coat in classrooms in the cold months, and sweating it out when the temperature rises – or spending their days in buildings with leaky roofs, stairways overdue for repair or even water fountains they shouldn’t be drinking from.
Doug Ford’s plan includes larger class sizes for our children, forcing high school students to take four classes online instead of in a classroom, and cutting $1 billion from our children’s schools. People didn’t vote for their children’s education to be cut. We believe people deserve more from their government, not less.
