Ontario NDP Black Caucus Deputation Series – Criminal Justice System

As part of the Official Opposition’s ongoing commitment to addressing anti-Black racism in Ontario, the Ontario NDP Black Caucus is hosting deputations as an opportunity for community members to speak explicitly to key issues as it pertains to the criminal justice system and the Black community in Ontario.

To ensure as many attendees as possible have a chance to speak, deputation times will be assigned and shared ahead of time with RSVPed attendees.

Ontario NDP Community Safety and Correctional Services Critic, MPP Kevin Yarde will be joined by NDP Black Caucus Chair, MPP Laura Mae Lindo, other members of the Black Caucus and the Official Opposition.

Please register by Monday, August 5, 2019.

About the NDP Black Caucus
The mandate of the NDP Black Caucus is to ensure that Black perspectives and the perspectives of those of African descent are meaningfully incorporated into the work that New Democrats do on every file – from finance, to health care, education, housing, the Arts and beyond.

About the Deputation Series
The Ontario NDP Black Caucus is organizing summer deputations focused on specific policy areas to help strengthen our ability to oppose current government policies that are negatively impacting black communities in Ontario, help inform our policy and platform development, and identify organizing opportunities for community and the Ontario NDP to work together. The deputations are open to all.
